by Kareem Copeland (Associated Press)

"Things couldn't have gone much worse for the Maryland Terrapins on Saturday. Their quarterback suffered a concussion and missed half the game and Maryland suffered a historic loss. Eighth-ranked Florida State beat No. 25 Maryland 63-0 and the Terps tied for the most lopsided loss by a Top 25 team in FBS history. No. 11 Texas lost 66-3 to UCLA in 1997."

Jameis Winston’s big day fuels rout of Maryland

by Kevin McGuire

"Before today, Maryland’s worst loss at Florida State since the series started was a 50-7 setback in 1997. That changed this afternoon as Florida State had no problem with the previously undefeated Terrapins and cruised to a 63-0 win in ACC play. Florida State piled up over 600 yards of offense and scored 21 points in the third and the fourth quarters to build on a 21-0 halftime lead."

FSU throttles Maryland as attention turns to Clemson

by Bob Ferrante

"No. 25 Maryland was supposed to challenge Florida State...To push the Seminoles on offense and defense, to see what the team was made of -- and if No. 8 Florida State was a legitimate contender in both the ACC and on the national stage...Instead, Florida State pushed around Maryland. In every phase of the game. And it wasn't even close."

FSU, Winston blister Maryland, 63-0

"Jameis Winston threw five touchdown passes, and the No. 8 Florida State football team dismantled No. 25 Maryland on Saturday, 63-0...In a game that pitted a pair of undefeated teams against each other, the Seminoles were better in every phase – but especially at quarterback. Winston completed 23 of 32 passes for 393 yards and the five TDs. The redshirt freshman has now thrown for 17 touchdowns with just two interceptions."

Baltimore Sun:

Terps lose QB Brown, then game in 63-0 loss to Florida State

by Jeff Barker

"No. 25 Maryland had entered Doak Campbell Stadium buoyant and undefeated, believing it had finally amassed enough talent to reverse the weight of a history that had seen the football program lose all of its 11 road games to No. 8 Florida State...Instead — in their last visit here for an Atlantic Coast Conference game — the Terps (4-1, 0-1 ACC) encountered a dispiriting sense of sameness in a 63-0 defeat. Another blowout loss, the school’s worst in 20 years. Another starting quarterback knocked from the game. And, this time, a promising season at least momentarily derailed."

Orlando Sentinel:
