The 'Noles made a statement Saturday against a ranked conference opponent. By the 3rd quarter, the game was in garbage time. Couple the offensive effort with a shut out and voters take notice.
In both polls, FSU moves up to 6 jumping Louisville and Georgia. Georgia battled injuries and a very scrappy Tennessee team to escape with a win in OT. For Louisville, their weak schedule is starting to impact their ranking.
Clemson, after beating down Syracuse, stays at 4 in the Coaches and 3 in the AP. As long as Clemson takes care of Boston College next weekend, it will be number 6 vs number 3 in Death Valley. The game will be hyped through the roof. For what is at stake for both teams, it should be.
Florida moves up to 17 in both polls after a solid win over Arkansas. Replacement QB Tyler Murphy continues to play well for the Gators. UF has a much bigger test next weekend against LSU.
Miami pulled away from Georgia Tech late to remain undefeated. Hurricane QB Morris has not fully recovered from his ankle injury and it showed with his limited mobility. The win wasn't enough to move the Hurricanes up in the Coaches Poll as they remain ranked 14. The Canes do move up one in the AP to 13. (Remember, it is the Coaches that counts in the BCS, the AP doesn't).
Virginia Tech sneaks into the Coaches at 25 and 24 in the AP.
