I saw some buzz on Twitter over the weekend suggesting FSU may land the #1 "prep school" running back in the land, and that he might even count toward the 2013 class and enroll this summer.
Drew Harris was a 4 star recruit in 2012 who signed with Virginia Tech.
Can't find anything concrete about why he didn't end up playing in Blacksburg (admittedly not looking too hard) but it appears he wasn't eligible to enroll in college, which probably explains why he didn't enroll in JUCO either, and instead spent last year at a prep school.
It seems Harris is still sorting through his eligibility with the NCAA, but it also appears that his recruiting is open, with FSU gaining serious ground. According to 247Sports, FSU offered him on Saturday, 5/4/2013.
Harris would be a huge get for FSU. He's a superior talent at running back who would also provide much-needed depth. As far as I know, if he passes the NCAA clearinghouse Harris would enter as a freshman with all four years of eligibility.
If anyone out there knows anything about this situation please share.
