This is my first post on here but I am a long time lurker of TN and other related websites. I have to say that I am extremely impressed by the maturity of the discussions here and the hilarity of some of the posts. So after reading an article about the ACC running backs this season it got me thinking about our running backs and the future of FSU's RBs. I love the two backs we have now in JWJ and DFree. I think JWJ is a straight monster and can always be counted on to get 5 to 8 yards. I also love the way DFree runs the ball with his downhill running and low center of gravity. The thing that I think about that we are lacking is a "homerun" threat in a RB. I think that JWJ and DFree don't have the breakaway speed and agility to make that last person miss for a 90 yard run. With a homerun threat in the backfield it makes defenses honor the run and leaves gaping holes for recievers. I know Pender is said to be that guy but how much impact will he have this year? Can Ryan Green be the next Warrick Dunn? Or will JWJ and DFree surprise me and each have 1000 yards rushing?
