Lost in the Twitter-explosion caused by Karlos WIlliams' first carry as a running back was a tweet from JUCO PG Josh Gray.
Proud to be a #Seminole— Josh Gray (@ThatsJoshGray) September 14, 2013
Just days after landing the top JUCO player in the nation in Cinmeon Bowers, Coach Hamilton followed by getting a commitment from arguably the top JUCO PG in the nation.
Gray is intriguing, as his primary focus right now is finding someplace stable. He committed to Mississippi State out of high school, but their coach got fired. So he enrolled at his next choice (Texas Tech), and their coach got fired. Instead of transferring immediately, he went the JUCO route so he could take his time making his decision.
He's a lightning quick point guard with ridiculous anticipation. His 4.3% steal rate as a freshman would have led the ACC by a wide margin. He also averaged 9.3 points and 3.2 assists in his one season at Texas Tech. At 6-0 he's smaller than the typical Hamilton PG recruit, but he'll be one of the quickest players in the conference.
Since this is a football Saturday, I'll save more detailed analysis for later.
Meanwhile, FSU still has three other recruits on campus.
