Now that I live in Colorado, I get to DVR, sip coffee and watch Gameday with my toddler before the day really starts. And she likes to watch while we play, therefore I have been able to watch each Sat this year. Great way to start the day.
I have enjoyed how the gameday guys embrace the fans, seems they are doing that more these days. Reflecting on the signs, acknowledging the humor and stories etc (personal fav may have been the jorts piece they did).
Clearly Coach is my favorite, but I really like the formula of Herbie, Chris and Desmond. While Pollack is going to be an okay replacement (if final/official), they could do worse…And overall, the main crew really isn't biased. I know that isn't a universally agreed upon notion, but I don't take offense when they support their schools, just as long as they show some modicum of journalism.
And please please, stop putting Finebaum on the show. He is such a homer, even the other analysts make fun of him on camera! If we consider how bad he is, perhaps the rest of the crew really isn't that bad.
Still have a great memory of getting my girlfriend (ex) to the 2003 Gameday set in TLH during the late night wrap up. She was so excited to meet and get Corso's signature that she couldn't speak and just agreed with everything he said. She still has his autograph posted at work. Listening to how sweet he was and how star struck she was (all the while she ignored Herbie on purpose). How nice he was to her will always be my favorite memory of him, even with all the sound bites he has been part of.
I ain't generally a betting man, but have a feeling this weekend will be Corso's last time selecting headgear. And if it is, he will be able to go out in style, picking FSU, watching the Noles win the title and heading off into the sunset.
And what a great bowl season this has been so far!
