I'm sitting here on "Sweatpant Sunday" chilling on my couch, reading about the Natty and patiently waiting, but I've heard from a couple places that Golden could be heading to Happy Valley. This raises some interesting recruiting questions for me.
I'm not the most in tuned as it pertains to the number crunching portion of the recruiting process. I've heard on here, from Bud I think, that there are about 10 guys currently committed to UM (of F) that we'd be interested in. The problem I see is that I'm trying to figure out where the room is for us to be able to actively pursue some of these guys.
I get that the class will have a few drop offs in the end, but we're also still expecting another OL, Ermon Lane, and Marlon Humphrey type characters to jump aboard, right? What I don't want to happen is for us to be full and Florida to luck into a few guys that we could have had or should have had but had no room.
Now, I'm sure that Florida is in line to benefit from this as well, but if you were those kids and you had the choice, the top end guys should be currently leaning to the Noles. I've not heard of a time when there were TOO MANY blue chippers that wanted in, but we had no room. That is an embarrassment of riches but I sure hope our current limits don't prevent us from taking aboard a few more studs.
Just something I'm wondering about how we'd handle and perhaps those more closely tied with the process can chime in and pontificate. Good problem to have, no matter what
