Week 5 Master List of Noles in the NFL (Updated throughout weekend)

The big news this week is the benching of EJ Manuel for Kyle Orton (who was benched a few years ago for Tim Tebow). Yikes. For his part, EJ has stated he wants to earn his starting spot back, and would play the game differently if he did.

Also big news is the waiving of Rodney Smith by the Vikings. One fewer Seminole among the Norsemen. [Update: the Browns picked him up off waivers.]

Speaking of the Vikings, though Christian Ponder is officially the second string QB in Minnesota, reports are that he's starting Thursday night, with rookie Teddy Bridgewater unable to go. Hopefully the Vikings have a better game plan for him than just hand the ball off repeatedly like he did when he came into the game in week 4.

On the curious news front, the Patriots still haven't listed Bryan Stork as their starter on their web site, despite the fact that he started in week 4 (and probably will again).

In meta-news, I've abandoned pulling information from ESPN altogether and am now getting depth chart and injury information from each team's website to ensure it's fresh. That's changed up the Status column format slightly to reflect the kind of information the team websites are serving up versus ESPN.

As a result of this, some players have changed position. For example, according to the San Francisco 49ers, they don't have defensive ends on their team, only defensive tackles and nose tackles, so Tank Carradine is now a defensive tackle to match that. Similarly, the Rams are officially listing Lamarcus Joyner on their safety depth chart and not their cornerback depth chart, so that's how he's now listed.

As always, the week 5 stats column will be updated throughout the weekend as the games complete.
