Thought I would take a look at how the schedules of the contenders for the playoff stack up.
This is each team and the F+/- of their opponents in order of their schedule with FCS teams not included.
So for FSU's schedule, Oklahoma State is currently 76th, Clemson 20th, Miami 11th, etc.
Then I summarized the number of opponents in each ranking category, 1-10, 11-20, 21-30, etc.
The ** denotes a loss.
Not sure what gives Oregon the edge over FSU, the Ducks seem to have one more loss, less top 20 wins,
& less top 30 wins. FSU has a tougher closing schedule than Oregon as well (#34 & #42 vs. #73 & #65).
For the conference championship game FSU will get either Duke #25 or Georgia Tech #14.
Oregon gets ASU at #19, so pretty comparable.
I guess it is the old "eye test".
I'd also look out for MSU to possibly jump FSU if they beat Ole Miss who currently sits at #4.
The committee (ESPN) would love to see Alabama play FSU in round one and Oregon in the final.
