SEC to stay at 8 games, require 1 P5 OOC

The SEC announced today that they have decided to remain at 8 conference games. The announcement was released on the SEC Digital Network - LINK.

What this means for ACC teams is two-fold: (1) it will be a lot easier to justify staying at 8 if the SEC does it too, and (2) it will be a lot easier to schedule OOC games with SEC teams now that they are requiring at least one P5 non-conference game every year.

The requirement to play a P5 opponent will go into effect with the 2016 season. Currently there are 4 SEC teams which do not have a P5 OOC game that year: Alabama and Auburn (which don't have any OOC games yet), and Mississippi State and Ole Miss. Incidentally, the only ACC team without a P5 opponent already that year is Boston College, which only has 2 non-conference games so far.
