Every other year in college basketball is a "rules" year, meaning the NCAA will look to tweak things on the court. The big one for me has always been timeouts. If you can call a timeout, see how the defense responds coming out of said timeout, and then immediately call another timeout then you know your sport has too many timeouts. Luckily, they've finally begun to address the issue.

Other rule changes include:
- Changing the shot clock from 35 seconds to 30 (Ham isn't the biggest supporter of this idea)
- Stricter enforcement of defensive rules (whatever that means)
- Providing offensive players same verticality rules as defensive players
- Increase restricted arc from 3 feet to 4 feet
- No reset of back court 10 second clock after a timeout
- No more 5-second rule (since they never call it anyway)
- Pre game dunking is allowed (get off my lawn!)
The NCAA Rules Oversight Committee will decide whether to adopt these changes during their meeting on June 8th.
