Jimbo Fisher overall seemed pleased with the performance of the team against USF, especially the way they bounced back in the second half. His only mention of needs of improvement were the kick off return unit, and that "Beatty had two bad kicks."
Dalvin Cook carried a big workload with 30 carries to Mario Pender's seven. Jimbo attributed this to Dalvin "having the hot hand" and they hope to get Pender some more touches in the future.
On defense, Fisher gave a lot of praise to Giorgio Newberry who was their player of the game on defense, as well as Marquez White saying, "He's done a really good job."
FSU will play their first Friday night game of the season against Boston College, and even though Jimbo said he is not a big fan of Friday night games, he said they will be ready.

Fresh off of a 34-14 win over in-state opponent University of South Florida Bulls, Florida State Seminoles head coach Jimbo Fisher will speak to the media Monday at 1 PM EST.
There is much to talk about, after the very, very slow start by the offense, and a sub-par performance from Everett Golson, who came off of a 300-yard game against Texas State and was held by USF to just six yards in the first half. It wasn't completely his fault however, as FSU wide receivers dropped a total of six passes throughout the game to go along with the shaky line. Luckily, Dalvin Cook stepped up and was the main source of the offense, rushing for 266 yards in the victory.
Defensively, the Noles were hit and miss, having great plays being followed up by blown assignments, allowing USF to capitalize greatly. They allowed 274 yards of total offense, and were led by Marquez White who had an interception in the end zone as well as Ro'Derrick Hoskins who had seven tackles with two going for a loss.
It also looks like special teams is coming together as Bobo Wilson had an excellent day returning punts, coming off a week where the Noles fumbled attempting to return two separate punts.
Florida State has a short week ahead of them before traveling to Boston College to take on the Eagles on Friday night
