For time first time since 2012, Florida State football heads to Tampa with a matchup against USF. In 2009, an undefeated 3-0 South Florida hosted a 2-1 Florida State Seminoles, just as the teams currently stand in 2016, and defeated the ‘Noles 17-7 in the Bulls’ only victory in the brief series history.
The last time the teams met was in 2015 at Doak Campbell Stadium, when USF gave the ‘Noles trouble in the first half. QB Everett Golson only completed one of nine passes when FSU went into halftime tied at seven. In the end, Florida State picked it up in the second half and cruised to a 34-14 victory.
Florida State is coming off a 63-20 blowout loss at Louisville, the most points given up in school history. For its third win of 2016, USF traveled to Syracuse and outscored the Orange 45-3 in the final three quarters, following a 17 point first quarter deficit.
