Following Tuesday’s Florida State football practice, RB Jacques Patrick spoke with the media, and talked about a multitude of topics including playing with Dalvin Cook.
One question presented to the sophomore was, “What’s the ceiling for your guys tandem? It seems like a thunder and lightning type tandem.” Patrick responded by saying Cook is the best back in the country, and saying that when his own time comes, could see himself mentioned in that conversation. “We work hard every day, we got a great running back coach, offensive line has been playing well...it’s a total team effort.”
Through four games, Dalvin Cook has 495 rushing yards on 78 attempts (6.35 yards per attempt) with four touchdowns while Jacques Patrick rushed for 231 yards on 37 attempts (6.24 yards per attempt) with two scores.
Patrick has started to emerge as a very viable option in the Florida State backfield after having his second career 100 yard rushing game against USF and looks to be on his way to taking over the reigns for Dalvin Cook if the former Miami Central standout decides to forgo his senior year.
