Jimbo Fisher and his Seminoles took to the practice fields Wednesday afternoon as they began to wrap up spring camp. The players were without pads as they entered the facility.
Mario Edwards Jr. and Mario Pender were new additions to the non-dressed list. Nile Lawrence-Stample was not at practice. And with Edwards out, Demarcus Walker took those reps at defensive end.
Nate Andrews was dressed out on Wednesday but limited. And with Andrews still limited, Lamarcus Brutus continued to take reps at safety. And Trey Marshall continued to come in during the dime.
Cam Erving continued to cross-train at center, with Barron oddly working with the third string quarterback before walk-throughs began. But once walk-throughs began, Barron was back at center and Erving was back at left tackle.
Jameis wasn't shy when receivers or backs were out of position, and continues to show the leadership necessary to bring his guys together and get them on the right page.
They worked quite a bit on kick returns yet again, but specifically focused on teams trying to kick it away from Florida State's kick returners. Jimbo kept explaining that teams were going to try to do anything they could to keep the ball away "from all these guys back here returning kick," so they'd have to be able to process the variety of kicks they will likely see throughout the year.
Jimbo Fisher will speak following practice and we'll bring you any necessary updates.
