The Florida State Seminoles took to the practice fields during a hot Saturday morning to kick off their third two-a-day.
The following players were not dressed out: Markus Eligwe, Ryan Green, Josue Matias, Mario Pender, Tyrell Lyons, Ryan Hoefeld, Ro'Derrick Hoskins, P.J. Williams and Ronald Darby. And Colin Blake wasn't present.
Williams and Darby, who Jimbo warned us would not be at practice for four or five days, were back on the sidelines.
Dalvin Cook and Keelin Smith continued to sport blue no-contact jerseys.
With Hoefeld out, Ruben Carter took reps with the first team as the backup center. And Kareem Are continued to take reps at left guard, with Matias out, and the staff seems very comfortable with him at that position.
The offense walked through quite a bit of heavy two-tight end sets on Saturday with Mario Edwards playing the role of fullback. During four-wide receiver sets, the staff continued to experiment with different combinations out wide.
John Franklin, who worked as the fifth quarterback yesterday, was back at the three-spot. Franklin also continued his work with the receivers.
On the defense, Chris Casher seemed a little limited, with Demarcus Walker getting most of the reps opposite Mario Edwards.
Jimbo Fisher will speak following the morning session.
