FSU running back Cam Akers was taken with the 52nd overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft by the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams recently let go of Todd Gurley and Akers looks like the apparent replacement. If it wasn’t for some questions about his pass blocking, the former 5-star could’ve gone even higher in the draft with his elite burst and balance in the backfield.
‘Nole nation burst onto social media to react to the pick. Fans, former coaches, and players all showed love for #3. For all the reactions, see below:
Former head coach Willie Taggart showed love to the player that carried his team for the majority of two years, even calling him the best back in the draft.
Congratulation to @thereal_cam3! Very proud of you. LA is getting a great person, runningback and leader. #BestBackInTheDraft
