Florida State’s new head coach, Willie Taggart, has been all over the recruiting trail of late, firming up commitments from those already pledged to the Seminoles. But as with any staff change, there are always going to be instances in which a recruit and a new group of coaches simply don’t match that of the prior relationship, and this appears to be the case with FSU and running back Charles Strong, who decommited on Wednesday.
Strong (6-1, 226) is a three-star prospect who was the Seminoles’ only running back commitment in the class of 2018. He plays his high school ball at Union County HS in Lake Butler, Florida. Strong is presently ranked the No. 25 RB in the country, the 96th best player in Florida, and No. 576 nationally. He also has offers from Florida, Louisville, LSU, Miami, Mississippi, and Notre Dame. Florida State’s 2018 class is now down to nine members, ranked 10th in the ACC, and 48th in the country.
Included below is Strong’s decommitment tweet.
