Florida State Recruits & Targets Schedule Week of 9/13

Florida State recruits and targets are once again in High School Football action again this weekend. Let's take a look at how they have been doing and where they will be this weekend.

I know everyone is excited for the home opener against Nevada this weekend but let's take a quick side step and check in on FSU's recruits and targets for the 2014 cycle.


  • Last weekend, LB Kain Daub and DE Blake McClain of Sandalwood (Jacksonville, FL) aided in a rout against Paxon (Jacksonville, FL) by a score of 47-7. This weekend they will be in action against Fletcher (Neptune Beach, FL). The game is at Fletcher High School and will take place at 7 PM.
  • WR Markell Pack helped Purvis (MS) crush Sumrall (MS) last week by a score of 38-0. The elite WR recruit racked up 170 all purpose yards and threw in a receiving and rushing touchdown against Sumrall. This Friday, Purvis has a bye week.
  • LB Jacob Pugh and LS Stephen Gabbard of Godby (Tallahassee, FL) crushed Chiles (Tallahassee, FL) last Friday by a score of 64-14. Pugh had a tackle and one TFL in the game. Godby will be taking on East Gadsden (Havana, FL) on Thursday the 12th at Gene Cox Stadium in Tallahassee at 7 PM.
  • DT Dexter Wideman of Saluda (SC) was on the losing side of a contest against Strom Thurmond (Johnston, SC) by a score of 17-28. Saluda has a bye week this week. Wideman was also selected as an Under Armour All-American this week.
  • LB Delvin Purifoy of Pensacola Catholic (FL) cruised past Pine Forest (Pensacola, FL) last Friday. Purifoy racked up 7 solo tackles and also forced a fumble in the game. Pensacola Catholic will be in action again Friday night against Pensacola (FL) at 7:30 PM. The game will be at Pensacola High School.
  • TE Mavin Saunders of Kinkaid (Houston, TX) helped his team win a close one against Bellville (Houston, TX) by a score of 39-38. He will be back in action Thursday night against Houston Christian (TX) at HCHS at 7:00 PM.
  • DT Demarcus Christmas of Manatee (Bradenton, FL) beat Venice (FL) by a score of 35-14 after being down by 14 at the end of the first quarter. Christmas had 2 tackles and QB hurry in the game. Manatee will be hosting Friendship Collegiate Academy (Washington DC) Friday night at 7:30 PM. FSU target 5-Star CB Jalen Tabor will be competing against Manatee in this contest.
  • ATH Treon Harris of Booker T. Washington (Miami, FL) played in a huge prime time game last week against Miami Central throwing 12-17 for 129 yards and 2 touchdowns. On Wednesday, Booker T. Washington faced Carol City (FL) and crushed them by a score of 45-0. Harris threw 14-18 for 239 yards and 3 touchdowns. Booker T. Washington is currently considered to be one of the best high school football teams in the country.
  • S Trey Marshall of Columbia (Lake City, FL) is still recovering from emergency surgery due to an injury he suffered on a hit that caused internal bleeding in his chest. The surgery was successful and his coach said he expected the speedy defensive back to be back on the field in 6 weeks, which is pretty incredible. This was however just an initial projection so we'll keep you updated on anything we hear about the situation.
  • RB Jonathan Vickers of North Florida Christian (Tallahassee, FL) rushed for 21 yard and a touchdown against True Institute (Brunswick, GA) in a 68-0 shutout. NFC has a bye week now.
  • QB JJ Consentino of Central Catholic (Pittsburgh, PA) lead his team to a 24-0 shutout against North Hills (Pittsburgh, PA). Central Catholic will be traveling to Canon-McMillan (Canonsburg, PA) to play on Friday night at 7:30 PM.
  • OG Corey Martinez of Tampa Catholic (FL) helped his team eek out a close victory against Clearwater Central Catholic (FL) by a score of 13-10. Martinez and Tampa Catholic will be taking on Tarpon Springs (FL) on Thursday night at 7:30 PM at Tarpon Springs High School. Tarpon Springs features some D-1 talent in WR and Clemson commit Artavis Scott and OG / Michigan commit Mason Cole.
  • ATH Malique Jackson will be in action against Glynn Academy (Brunswick, GA) Friday night at Glynn.
  • ATH Jojo Robinson aided Northwestern (Miami, FL) in a 25-7 win against Raines (Jacksonville, FL) last week. Northwestern currently is on a bye week.
  • DE Rick Leonard of Middletown (MD) had a sack and two more tackles in a 19-14 win against Westminster (MD) last week. He will once again be in action Thursday at 7 PM against Winters Mill (Westminster, MD). The game will be held at Winters Mill High School.
  • WR Ryan Sousa of Lake Nona (Orlando, FL) had 147 reception yards on 8 catches and also had a touchdown in his team's 27-0 rout of Cypress Creek (Orlando, FL). He will be back in action Friday night at 7:30 PM as his team travels to take on Colonial (Orlando, FL).
  • WR CJ Whorton of South Dade (Homestead, FL) aided in a close 16-12 win over Carol City (FL). He will be back in action Thursday night at 7 PM against American (Hialeah, FL). The game will take place at South Dade.
  • DT Adam Torres of Lake Mary (Orlando, FL) was once again not playing due to an knee injury, but Lake Mary beat Osceola (Kissimmee, FL) in an upset by a score of 20-17. Lake Mary's coach said he should be back in action against DeLand (FL) on the 20th. They have a bye this week.
  • C Alec Eberle of Atlee (Mechanicsville, VA) helped his team to a 70-14 defeat against Deep Run (Glen Allen, VA). He will be playing against Henry (Ashland, VA) Friday night at 7 PM. The game will be held at Atlee.
  • OT Ethan Frith of North Pike (Summit, MS) was part of a losing effort against Brookhaven (MS) last week by 13-19. Frith had 4 total tackles on defense for North Pike. On Friday night, North Pike and Frith will be traveling to play Germantown (Madison, MS) at 7 PM.
  • CB Adoree Jackson of Serra (Gardena, CA) rushed for 77 yards on 9 carries and added a TD AND caught 10 balls for 109 reception yards. Uh, wow. He also had 2 total tackles on defense as Serra High School beat Oceanside (CA) by a score of 50-39. Jackson will be playing at home on Friday night against Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks, CA).
  • OT Frank Ragnow was on the losing side of a contest between Chanhassen (MN) and rival Chaska (MN) by a score of 21-35. Ragnow played some defense in this contest and racked up 3 tackles (2 solo). Chanhassen will be traveling to take take on Academy of Holy Angels (Richfield, MN) Friday night at 7 PM.
  • TE Anthony Jones of Edna Karr (New Orleans, LA) was on the winning side of a contest against St. Paul (Covington, LA) by a score of 34-12. Edna Karr will be taking on St. Augustine (New Orleans, LA) Friday night at 7 PM at Tad Gormley Stadium.
  • OT Damian Prince Bishop McNamara (Forestville, MD) helped his team defeat Georgetown Prep (North Bethesda, MD) by a score of 34-9. Prince was actually named defensive player of the game in this contest as he racked up 2 sacks, 5 tackles, and 4 QB hurries. Bishop McNamara will be hosting Silver Oak Academy (Keymar, MD) on Saturday at 2 PM.
  • RB Darrell Scott of Havelock (NC) helped his team cruise by Jones Senior (Trenton, NC) by a score of 63-0. Scott will be back in action when his team travels to take on Kinston (NC) Friday night at 7:30 PM.
  • DE Jalyn Holmes of Lake Taylor (Norfolk, VA) was playing in a game against Oscar Smith (Chesapeake, VA) televised on ESPNU. Lake Taylor got absoultey crushed by a score of 2-42. 5 Star DT Andrew Brown (UVA Commit) is a player on Oscar Smith. Holmes was ejected during this game for unsportsmanlike conduct and will have to sit out the next two games according to Virginia High School Athletics rules.
  • RB Jeff Jones of Washburn (Minneapolis, MN) had an easy victory against Edison (Minneapolis, MN) by a score of 38-0. Washburn will be taking on Minneapolis North (MN) on Friday night at 7 PM. Washburn will be hosting Minneapolis North.
  • WR Josh Malone of Station Camp (Gallatin, TN) had a huge game against Mt. Juliet (TN) catching 5 balls for 115 yards and 2 touchdowns to help with a final score of 41-3 (which is a huge upset). Malone will be in action Friday night against Antioch (TN).
  • CB Kendarius Webster of Stockbridge (GA) eeked out a close one at home against Upson-Lee (Thomaston, GA) by a score of 15-8. Stockbridge will be taking on Columbia (Decatur, GA) in a neutral site game at Panthersville Stadium Friday night at 7:30 PM.
  • CB Marlon Humphrey of Hoover (AL) cruised by Hueytown (AL) (Jameis's high school) in a shutout by a score of 35-0. Humphrey recorded a TFL in the contest. Hoover will now be traveling to take on Jackson-Olin (Birgmingham, AL) Friday night at 7 PM.
  • ATH Myles Autry of Norcross (GA) aided his team in a 21-7 win against Parkview (Lilburn, GA). This week they will be hosting North Gwinnett (Suwanee, GA) at 8 PM on Friday night.
  • OT Roderick Johnson of Hazelwood Central (Florissant, MO) won a close one against DeSmet Jesuit (St. Louis, MO) by a score of 42-38. Johnson will be back in action against McCluer North (Florissant, MO) Saturday at 1 PM. The game will be held at Hazelwood Central.
  • DT Thomas Holley of Lincoln (Brooklyn, NY) aided his team to a 42-6 victory over Curtis (Staten Island, NY). Holley had 3 pass deflections for a defense that did not give up any points in the second half. Lincoln's next game is on Saturday night at 7 PM against Sheepshead Bay (Brooklyn, NY). The game will take place at Lincoln.
  • RB Shai McKenzie of Washington (PA) blew away Southmoreland (Alverton, PA) by a score of 48-20. Washington will be traveling to Charleroi (PA) Friday night at 7:30 PM.
  • WR Travis Rudolph of Cardinal Newman (West Palm Beach, FL) will be traveling to take on IMG Academy (Bradenton, FL) on Friday at 7 PM.
