Fisher's Deal...

...For Jimbo Fisher to go to West Virginia or even discuss head coaching jobs it'll cost him 2.5 million dollars.

I can guarantee West Virginia isn't paying $2.5 million to talk to Fisher.

Now if FSU doesn't hire Fisher when Bobby Bowden retires than the school must pay Fisher $2.5 million.

Bowden's 1-year deal includes incentives for Top 5, Top 10 finishes, an ACC Championship, BCS Bowl game, BCS title, victory over Florida and others.

He is also going to receive a "lifetime achievement" award of $1 million upon his retirement.

Read the fine print.  Fisher's buyout exists for any school 'but' West Virginia.  WVU is the only school he can go to WVU where the 2.5 million is not required to be paid to FSU.

Not Happening...
From a story in today's AJC

2. Jimbo Fisher to West Virginia? Nope. Fisher and his agent had to work too hard to get the deal in place with Florida State that will pay him $2.5 million if he's not the head coach by 2011. West Virginia would also have to buy out Florida State if it wanted him. Timing is everything and that's why Florida State president T.K. Wetherell was willing to put this deal together for Fisher.

Since WVU wasn't even willing to give Rich Rodriguez enough for improved facilities I doubt they'd pay 2.5 million for an offensive coordinator who has never been a head coach before.

That being said, Rick Trickett was in West Virginia today for an interview, but I'm guessing it was more out of courtesy than anything.

However, West Virginia might be perfect for the troll of the Bowden family -- Terry. Former player, former successful coach and he's interested.

Buyout 'but' WVU
Where are you coming up with this stuff?  Did you actually read this...or did you make this up?

Terry "Golden Child" Bowden to WVU?
It has always made sense to me that Terry would wind up with a head coaching job again, but I always speculated it would be with FSU upon dad's retirement/expirement (no disrespect intended, as I hope Bobby lives and coaches until he no longer desires it do be so).  Since Dad was in tight at one time with WVU, it is not that far fetched that Terry winds up in Wheeling, at least in the meantime.  Does anyone have the inside scoop??? If so, please share with your FSU brethren immediately.

If not, I will go on the record now that Terry is the next FSU head coach when Daddy retires/expires. Yeah, Jimbo will be ticked and probably leave to coach the Rams or Dolphins, but who cares (for all the fuss and complaining, he only got us one more win this season than Junior Jeffrey Bowden did with essentially the same talent). No disrespect Mr. Jimbo, but the verdict is still out in my book until you have the chance to recruit your own players.

There is just too much talent and tradition in the Bowden family to not have it carry on at Florida State in the coaching ranks, which is why my money is on Terry being a sideline commentator and booster speaker extraordinaire until he assumes his rightful place as heir to the throne (i.e., head coach of the Florida State Seminoles). Come on, it is definitely going to happen, right??  If not, be courageous, hit reply, and tell me why I am wrong.  There are no right or wrong answers here, just ones that are different from mine and, yes, of course, wrong, in my opinion.

I could be way off base here, but hey, it is a blog after all.  As they say the the south, y'all prove me wrong!  Until then, please look for Terry to be wearing the headphones under a garnett and gold jersey in the near future, if Dad is any indication the Bowden legacy is firmly intact at The Florida State University.

...Terry will never coach at FSU, believe that. Besides the fact that the board and the boosters want nothing to do with him, he also brings a good bit of baggage.
