One of the biggest storylines entering the season for me is the type of impact new running backs coach Eddie Gran will have on our backs. It's no secret that our backfield is crowded, but in our offense that isn't necessarily a bad thing. Chris Thompson heads into fall camp as the starter and fits the offense better than any other back on the roster. I'm curious to know what readers of tomahawknation think.
The scenario could play out any number of ways. Will Thompson get the bulk of the carries in comparison to the rest of the backs? Or will Jermaine Thomas fight his way back to starter at some point during fall camp or the season? Perhaps we will see a 1A, 1B scenario? These backs present a variety of options and they aren't alone in competing for touches. One thing that's for sure, competition at any position causes the cream to rise to the top. FSU could have a special running game in 2010.
