We start off with a 4 week Player Spotlight series focusing on some of the players who will be vital to the team’s success this season. This week Herc & Nolebra Kai spotlight 2 of the smallest playmakers on the team: Chris Thompson & LaMarcus Joyner. How many touches a game will Thompson get? How many yards? How many interceptions will Joyner have at the safety position? Will he be a starter?

The Florida State Seminoles begin spring practice on Monday. Herc and Nolebra Kai preview the storylines that have developed since the Chick-Fil-A bowl victory over South Carolina. In PART 1 of the 3 part discussion, we discuss the roster changes and attrition that has occurred. Who’s no longer on the team? Who’s out for the spring due to injury? What impact will the early enrollees have? In PART 2, we discuss the offensive side of the ball. How will the offense change with EJ as the starting QB now? Who fills the vacancies on the Offensive Line? With a stable of receivers, who will secure a spot in the rotation? In PART 3, we discuss the defensive side of the ball. Who will be the 2 new starters at linebacker? Will Nigel Bradham move to the "Mike" linebacker spot? Was moving Lamarcus Joyner from cornerback to safety a good idea?

The Seminoles will take on Iona in the first round of the 2009 Old Spice Classic Basketball tournament that runs from November 26th to 29th at Walt Disney World. The first game will be televised on ESPNU. Other teams in the tournament include: Michigan, Alabama, Xavier, Marquette, Creighton and Baylor. If the Seminoles make it to the finals, which will be televised on ESPN2, they could face Michigan, Marquette or Xavier. The rest of the 2009 schedule will be announced later in August.
