Truenole's 2010 Position Outlook: Defensive Backs

No doubt the 2010 secondary is a unit we will all keep a close eye on. Questions include how much the secondary will improve under Stoops and which individuals will flourish has been a hot topic of discussion. This is a talented group overall. Hopefully they can pull it together on the field.

Seminole Rising: CB/PR Greg Reid

I've decided to do a short piece on a different Nole each friday from here until the season starts. First up, fan favorite Greg Reid! Of course I included everyone's favorite highlight clip (It simply never gets old) Adam Tolliver offers another great piece on the Noles. He does a good job of assessing Greg's positives from last year and weaknesses to improve upon at this point in his early career. Remember that Greg is a true sophomore and while he had big plays (especially in the return game) he left much to be desired on defense. He is quite the talent for new DB coach and OC Mark Stoops though.

VIDEO; Jimbo Fisher speaks to Lowndes and Greg Reid

Jimbo Fisher speaks at Lowndes (GA) High School's Football Banquet. Fisher's audience included Lowndes defensive back Gerald Demps, an FSU commit and Greg Reid who has the Seminoles on his list of prospective schools.

Jarvis Byrd is done

The promising cornebrack from Pahokee Highschool had a "great time" on his visit to NC State and seems pretty set on sticking with the Wolfpack. He is not visiting FSU and is done with his recruiting process. FSU will fully pursue Greg Reid and play damage control with Pahokee High.

DB Greg Reid joins H-Back Orson Charles on official visit

"Greg Reid was a Florida commitment last week. Just 24 hours ago, the highly regarded athlete from Lowndes County (Ga.) was set to visit Alabama for a weekend visit. But on Friday evening, one of the nation's premier cornerbacks was on his way to Tallahassee for an official visit to Florida State according to sources familiar with Reid’s recruiting process. That decision followed a meeting with FSU coordinators Jimbo Fisher and Mickey Andrews in Valdosta earlier on Friday." Steve Ellis has better sources than me. I knew about this today but promised not to say anything until tomorrow. He has cranked his game to a new level.
