Considering that he can't even sign a letter of intent for 20 months, we'll have plenty of time to find out more. FILM (FREE) What we do know is that this kid was at the Jimbo Fisher camp and impressed DB coach Mark Stoops, who has put a ton of kids in the league. WIlliams made 3rd-team All-State for 3A last year as a sophomore. He was listed at 6'1 170. Given his age, he's probably grown as much as an inch and added as much as 10 lbs. And there is no way FSU would let a kid commit this early if he didn't have considerable talent. Schools typically tell Marginal kids to wait in case the school can land someone better. So FSU is getting a kid who played very well as a sophomore and likely wowed the coaches at the camp. We'll track his development and have more sometime in the next 20 months. Also, NoleDigest.com had it up on twitter, so you can go there for more if they have any. Florida State has done exceptionally well lately with the early offers. Kids put a silly amount of stock in their first offers, so there is an undeniable benefit to getting out and scouting kids very early. Of course, you have to have the eye for talent. Based on early returns with players such as DT Nile Lawrence (ESPNU 150 w/ FSU as 1st BCS offer), this new staff has that. More importantly, early evaluations is an area in which the Gators simply beat the tar our of FSU during the last decade because only half of FSU's staff was willing to put in the work to do so.
