There are a slew of injuries, especially at linebacker where expected starters Marcus Ball and Derek Nicholson will be out while the oft-injured Jae Thaxton is also out.
The game's format is a glorified scrimmage with the offense going against the defense instead of a Garnet team vs. Gold team situation.
I will not be in attendance as I am down in South Florida at the MSL Combines. A lot of South Florida talent and most likely a few future Noles will be on display.
Don't expect much on the QBs as Jimbo Fisher has all but said he's not interested in making a decision until the end of summer practice. I expect both QBs will have good and bad moments. On Wednesday Lee did most of the first-team reps after Weatherford had a 6-of-19 day on Monday. Weatherford bounced back with a big day leading the second team (which proves my theory that he's a better fit there :).
The most interesting battle will be the backup running back position between Jamaal Edwards and Marcus Sims. Given the potential of Antone Smith and the possibility of a huge 2007 season, the backup this year is auctioning for the starting spot in 2008 if Smith leaves.
Defensively it will be nice to see if Neefy Moffett can continue his big spring. He has been extremely active as a sack machine so far.
Enjoy and I'll have updates tonight! If anyone goes, feel free to give me a report.
