...Not really..
But this scrimmage and Saturday's scrimmage will probably get us closer to the answer of who will start at quarterback come Sept. 3.
Also it will be the first opportunity to see Marcus Sims at fullback and the battles at the wide receiver position (De'Cody Fagg is the only player that seems to have a starting job locked).
The offensive line also requires watching as Ryan McMahon, Jacky Claude and Daron Rose seem to be the only three players consistently on Rick Trickett's good side. Personally I think Caz Piurowski and David Overmyer will take the other two positions.
On defense there's the major question of how long Dekoda Watson can hold off Marcus Ball at linebacker and who will step up to take over the cornerback job opposite of Tony Carter.
BTW the scrimmage is closed to the public. :)
A few other tidbits:
-- John Frady's days at center are OVER. He has officially moved to the tight end position and will probably change his number.
-- Apparently incoming frosh Taiwan Easterling was negotiating a deal to sing with the Florida Marlins until the final minutes and they came up with nothing. So he's a Nole baby!
-- Incoming frosh offensive lineman Anthony Grosso has left the team. The school is leaving it open for him to return.
-- 2006 signee Zach Hillery is still not with the team due to academic problems. I'm not sure when or if he will suit up. I wouldn't put him in the 2007 plans however.
-- FSU and Virginia Tech are both 5-2 favorites to win the ACC.
