TomahawkNation's 2011 Watch List

The 2011 class in the state of Florida is loaded to the gills with talent, most positions boast better players than the best players in the state for 2010. Of course FSU will be in the mix with many of these players. This is TomahawkNation's preliminary list of the best players in the state for 2011. If any of our readers live close to them go see them and wear FSU gear. This list will change a lot because these guys have two years to play, and some guys are just getting their feet wet. This is more of a "watch list" than a hard ranking. We don't know who will break out. Since nobody is committed yet (except Marlin Lane to Clemson) there is no Seminole bias.

Now go see who we think are the best juniors in Florida...

1. Teddy Bridgewater- QB, Miami Northwestern:

Consensus #1 player, just an incredible athlete who plays at the mother of all UM pipelines.

2. James Wilder Jr.-LB, Tampa Plant:

Perfect WLB, also has offers to play RB. Maybe the best LB in the state since Ernie Sims.

3. Tim Jernigan- DE, Lake City Columbia:

Just an absolute monster, 5* prospect; unblockable

4. Mike "Speedy" Bellamy- RB, Punta Gorda Charlotte:

The fastest kid in the state, great vision. 1955 yards 26 TD as a sophomore playing in 5A. Absolutely destroyed Cape Coral in their spring game

5. Karlos Williams- ATH, Davenport Ridge:

Can play a ton of positions well but most think he ends up at safety, he has been camping as  WR though, Vince William’s brother

6. Javares McRoy- WR, Lakeland:

Extremely fast, makes everyone miss. Best video I’ve seen outside Bellamy, better than Dubose or Dunkley by comparison.

7. Daunte "Pop" Saunders- ATH, Deland:

Plays QB but profiles as a gigantic CB ala Antonio Cromartie, he is awesome

8. Andre Davis- WR, Tampa Jefferson:

Big, great hands, kills every camp and 7 on 7

9. Javorius "Buck" Allen- ATH (RB), Tallahassee Lincoln:

Listed as an ATH but is a RB, big back with great cutting ability

10. Denzel Perryman- LB, Coral Gables:

He is going to UM, just forget it.

11. Arrington Jenkins-LB, Miami Killian:

Great size. Great speed. Everything you look for

12. Kelvin Benjamin-WR, Glades Central:

Big and smooth, just a matchup nightmare all over the field

13. Marlin Lane- RB, Daytona Beach Mainland:

Clemson commit, but kid can really run; great balance

14. Shaman Richardson- DT, North Marion:

Just around 6 feet like Jacobbi, but extremely strong and fast for his size

15. Nick Waisome-CB, South Lake:

He is a UF lean but we offered early, really want this kid

16. Nick O'Leary-TE, Palm Beach Dwyer:

Great hands, runs in the 4.5 neighborhood. He will be sought after by everyone and isn’t seen as a lock to anywhere.

17. Jericho Lee- DT, Tallahassee Godby:

Really great player who understands pad level which is amazing for a junior to be.

18. Chavelle Buie-ATH, Cocoa:

Put his team on his back all the way to a state title, very athletic

19. Sederius Bryant- LB, Seminole Sanford:

Wants to make a very early decision, FSU and UM are his only two offers

20. Deon Lee- DE, Walton:

Good athlete who is flying under the radar some, probably because he doesn’t camp a whole lot. Just wait though.

21. Tyler Moore- OL, Countryside:

Tyler has interest in FSU. FSU has interest in Tyler. He does have a lot of family ties to Nebraska however. Go-Go Trickett

22. Marcus Jackson- OL/DL, Vero Beach:

Probably more of a OL, he has a great frame.

23. Lonnie Gosha- DT, Lake Butler Union County:

Needs to add weight but can be a great 3 technique.

24. Curt Maggit- DE, Palm Beach Dwyer:

Just an absolute nightmare off the edge. Needs to learn to use more than just speed, but WOW.

25. Tacoi Sumler- WR/DB, 165, Miami Gulliver Prep:

Probably a CB, but he is quick as a cat. Competition questions, but I don’t see it as a problem.

26. Cortez Davis- S, Daytona Beach Mainland:

He is giant for the safety position, we’ll see if he is one in the end.

27. Quayshun Smith- CB, Tallahasse Godby:

Really good ball skills, but he is undersized. Extremely fast, he had a great showing at the Jacksonville NUC.

28. Rakeem Cato- QB, Miami Springs:

Good QB prospect, teammates with Willis Wright. Played well at FSU’s 7 on 7.

29. Jerron Seymour- RB, Hialeah:

Really quick, more of a scatback type, maybe Noel Devine lite. Plays with Corey Lemonier and Calvin Smith.

30. Demetrius Hart- ATH, Dr. Phillips:

Plays RB, but I have heard he will be playing more DB soon which is probably where he profiles.
