Update: ESPN Recruiting Analyst JC Shurburtt confirms. Jeff Cameron on 1270WFLA Radio reports that Warchant.com is reporting that 2011 6'2" 270 lb Lake Butler Defensive Lineman Lonnie Gosha committed to Florida State, citing his connection with all the coaches, including Coach Elliott, Coach Haggins, Coach Fisher, Coach Stoops, and Coach Hudson. Apparently other schools didn't show him the love from as many coaches.
This is FSU's 12th commitment, and we'll have more on this when we can catch up with Gosha or a coach. FSU is becoming an SEC sized team and projcts to have 7 or 8 300 lb defensive linemen in 2011, as well as 3 or 4 defensive linemen over 280 lbs. Fisher is unquestionably following the Saban model of building the defense from the inside out. That starts with the defensive line, then the linebackers, then the secondary. In that order because games are won on the line of scrimmage. Gosha has offers from Alabama, Florida, and Georgia.
