The Panama City Police Department announces the arrest of Edmund Ehimen Imeokparia, 21 years of age. Imeokparia is being charged with Grand Theft. On June 14, 2010 a report was filed in reference to a stolen Motorola cellular phone from the Planet Cellular Store located at 3212 West 23rd Street. Detectives with the Panama City Police Department investigated the case and learned that Imeokparia was in possession of the phone in Tallahassee, Florida. After confirming with the victim Detectives then obtained a warrant for Imeokparia's arrest. On June 15th 2010 Detectives with Panama City notified the Tallahassee Police Department of the investigation and warrant and requested that Imeokparia be arrested on the charges filed by the Panama City Police Department. Imeokparia was arrested on June 15th 2010 at approximately 5:40 P.M. without incident. The phone was valued at $449.99 [obviously didn't steal the rebate or a two-year service agreement]. The investigation continues and another arrest is expected in this case.
Jimbo Fisher won't tolerate this stuff and the arrest is surprising, given that discipline had been good and there hadn't been arrest in almost a year. It's also surprising because Ed is believed to come from a well-off family and had an IPhone (no reason to steal a cell phone for personal use). Ed Imeokparia is a guy who many believe wasn't going to be around after this season given his non-contributor status on the team (3rd stringer at best). He was not a Jimbo Fisher recruit and there is now serious doubt to his status with the team, given that his first notable statistic comes via the police blotter. Imeokporia had also been disciplined internally for attitude issues in the past. This potentially frees up a scholarship, but we will wait to adjust the roster and allow the legal process to play out. We have been told that while most of the team hangs out together and the behavior and discipline has improved a ton, Ed I does not hang with the team and is a bit of a loner. Suffice to say, he's not representative of the vast majority of players who have made a concerted effort to act right. UPDATE: Other Suspect Not FSU Football Player.
