For the 1st time in Leonard Hamilton’s tenure he has his Seminole basketball team off to a 3-1 conference start. The Seminoles never led by fewer than 10 points for the final 19 minutes and won easily 84-71. Five Seminoles scored in double digits, led by Bernard James’ career high 16. James was 8-8 from the field, which included 6 dunks. The team played solid defense throughout, limiting NCST to 39% shooting from the field. Even with NCST piling points on in garbage time they still failed to score more than a point per possession, and FSU has not allowed any ACC opponent to do so this season.
FSU started a big lineup for the 2nd game in a row, and the results were immediate as Terrance Shannon led all 1st half scorers with 8.
Michael Snaer scored 13 for the Noles, and Terrance Shannon added 12 points and 9 rebounds. FSU also took care of the ball, only turning the ball over on 15% of their possessions, though against a decidedly passive defense.
