This is not a power poll. I don't attempt to rank teams based on how good I think they are. I only rank teams based on their resume. What have they done? Not how talented are their players or what other polls project them to do, but what have they done? The poll is designed to be dynamic. I try to start from scratch every week.
Same as always. Quality losses, quality wins. Not a power poll. If a team plays bad opponents then that team needs to win convincingly.Notes: What a crazy year of football. Alabama and LSU have earned in my opinion, the 1 and 2 slot. Even if LSU loses in the SEC championship, it will be hard to knock them off the top spot. So in the end, rematch. Maybe there will be some points scored. Maybe not. Irish and Noles bringing up the rear, I guess. Don't feel comfortable ranking 10-2 Southern Miss. Was the demolition of Virginia enough to bump the Hokies to #3? I think so. Should some craziness happen this weekend, VT just might be a long shot to play in the title game. That would be pretty funny. Clemson has now lost 3 of their last 4 and came close to making it 4/4 with the nail biter against Wake. If Clemson continues their slide in the ACCCG and bowl game, the final rankings could include FSU but not Clemson. Like I said, crazy year of football.
