Florida State comes off 4 tough road games where they went 1-3 against UF and UVA. They played all games close evidenced by each going into extra innings. The biggest reasons FSU lost these games was poor game management and lack of pitching depth. It seems the former will be tough to change but the latter can and hopefully it starts tonight.
Sophomore righty David Trexler takes the mound for the Noles, little is know about him other than he is proclaimed to have one of the best arms on the team. in 2010 he pitched only a third of an inning and thus far in 2011 he has only 3 appearances where he faced 14 batters in 3 innings. FSU could use a strong midweek start to give hope that he might be able to fill Busch's spot in the weekend rotation.
The Stetson Hatters are no pushover team, they opened the season with a sweep of UGA and are currently have a RPI of 42. The Noles offense will again have to get it done without Mike McGee who is still resting a quad injury. In his place will be Sean Gilmartin.
Game starts at 6PM and will air on Sunshine. Stick around for live updates and a few drinks.
Tonight's over/under is 13. That is the total number of pitches Trexler will throw in the 1st inning before #11 makes a mound visit.
Enjoy and Go Noles!
