- The USA Today Coaches Poll was released today, and Florida State is ranked No. 24. Opponent rankings include NC State (No. 6), Duke (No. 8), Gata (No. 10), Wine N' Cheese (No. 12), Notre Dame (No. 23), while Minnesota, Miami and St. Joe's received votes.
- Florida State isn't the only ACC team tearing up the recruiting circuit. Maryland landed top-100 combo guard Roddy Peters. Most importantly, he's from the powerhouse AAU program DC Assault, who previous head coach Gary Williams refused to associate with.
Elsewhere on the recruiting trail, 75 members of ESPN's top-100 players have committed for 2013. 17 of them have selected ACC schools (including Syracuse, Pitt and Notre Dame).

This follows on a year when the ACC (without the new guys) secured more consensus top-100 recruits than any other conference, and the ACC (again, without the new guys) already have more consensus top-100 players on current rosters than any other conference. In short, the ACC is prepared to once again be the THE basketball conference.
- Coach K took his team to Fort Bragg for a practice, which not only gave them a unique experience, but it was also televised on ESPNU.
- Today is ACC Media Day and is televised on ESPNU. Currently reporters are asking football questions, because ACC reporters are about as competent as ACC refs.
