Florida State's road to redemption travels south to rival Miami. The 'Noles offense has struggled in their two road games. One of those games, against USF, could hardly be classified as a hostile environment. The 'Noles will likely see a similar home-to-visitor ratio in Miami. The 'Noles can't afford another poor offensive performance. Not against an historically bad Miami defense.
The game matches up nicely for the 'Noles on offense and defense. Motivation should not be an issue. The players know each other. They have family members and friends that are fans of the opposing team. This is still FSU-Miami. A year's worth of bragging rights are on the line, for players and fans alike.
This game has little significance nationally. The winner will not go undefeated or play for the championship. However, with an almost-national audience, Florida State has a chance to show the media, fans, and recruits the different directions the two programs have taken.
It's a long day of football and the 'Noles don't play until 8 PM. Until then, there is plenty of football in the noon and afternoon slots to keep you occupied. That includes some scouting. Clemson will try to keep a one loss record intact against a disappointing Virginia Tech team. Florida looks to stay undefeated against undermanned, banged up South Carolina. NC State plays Maryland after having a bye last week. Will the Terps be able to knock off the 'Pack? FSU fans hope so.
