Tomahawk Nation BlogPoll: Week 6

Florida State takes a big drop for losing on the road to NC State. The top 10 takes a big shuffle.

US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

This is not a power poll. I don't attempt to rank teams based on how good I think they are. I only rank teams based on their resume. What have they done? Not how talented are their players or what other polls project them to do, but what have they done? The poll is designed to be dynamic. I try to start from scratch every week.

Notes: Florida State took a horrible loss to NC State. They drop a lot. They now have one very good win against Clemson and a horrible loss. Texas and LSU get get rewarded a bit for playing very close games against a couple of the top ranked teams. Oklahoma earned a decent win against Texas Tech and also played a very close game to highly ranked Kansas State. Three big east teams in a row, right outside the top ten. Do they deserve to be there? Overall resumes are not horrible and they are lucky enough, at this point, to not have a loss. Alabama a lot lower than they should be? Best wins now against 3-2 Michigan. They still have plenty of time to build their resume, but not next week against Missouri. No, Missouri is 3-3 and just lost to Vanderbilt. Thoughts? Anyone completely out of place. Duke was contemplated earning a spot. Should they be ranked?
