Lithuanian Norbertas Giga commits to FSU

GIga is a player out of Lithuania who hasn't really played in the US

David Manning-USA TODAY Sports

One day after landing JUCO point guard Dayshawn Watkins, FSU has received another commitment. This time it is 6-10 Lithuanian big man Norbertas Giga. Giga came to the US recently and enrolled for his senior season at St. Benedict Prep in New Jersey. He arrived with a foot injury, so almost no one has seen him play.

FSU originally offered in early October, so I reached out then to some Lithuanian contacts I made due to their fans wanting to follow the career of Deividas Dulkys. From what I gathered, Giga is very skilled, but really needs to work on being strong in the post.

Until he plays more in the States we won't have a very good idea of what to expect, but I'm assuming he's being brought in as a development project. And with Bojo and Ojo just juniors next year, FSU has that luxury.

Giga joins PF Cinmeon Bowers (No. 1 rated JUCO player), PG Dayshawn Watkins (No. 15 rated JUCO player) and 3* combo guard Robbie Berwick in the 2014 class.
