Another week has passed and with it another win for the Seminoles. Simply put, things are great for the 'Noles right now. The team is 8-0, both sides of the ball look sharp, and the most recent dominating win came against its bitter rival, Miami, in front of the biggest Saturday night television audience this season (via @FSU_Football). Adding to that, the remaining regular season schedule for FSU does not appear to have any alarming speed bumps. The Seminoles could be on their way to an undefeated regular season. Of course, as has been a consistent topic of discussion recently, an undefeated regular season does not necessarily equal a spot in the national championship (Quick plug: Read this recent article by MattDNole. It's a great analysis on the whole BCS ranking situation FSU is currently mixed in).
Expect the topic of FSU's BCS standing to again be discussed at tonight's Jimbo Fisher Call-In Show. If one had to guess, Coach Fisher will assert that his team needs to keep winning. That is an appropriate assertion. The #2 ranked 'Noles need to keep winning. They will look to do just that this weekend as they travel to Winston-Salem to face the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. Florida State is heavily favored, and should be able to impose its will on Wake, especially if the Jameis Squintston Era is indeed over. How good can he be with new contacts...? Maybe that could be a question for Jimbo this week.
Head coach Jimbo Fisher and host Gene Deckerhoff will orchestrate this week's call-in show from the Four Points by Sheraton hotel in downtown Tallahassee at 7 p.m. EST. The show is often pretty entertaining, so we will be here to provide live updates for you to follow. Feel free to join in and give your thoughts in the comments section. Often the show is full of coach speak, so call in and ask Jimbo a creative question or two. The number to dial for the show is 877-99-NOLES.
