Gameday

Florida State (8-0) at Wake Forest (4-5) 12:00 PM ET

Watch: ABC: Unfortunately if you're in Big 12 country, you don't get the game. Map here.

Listen: 'Nole Radio Affiliates, Wake Radio Affiliates

Weather: Chilly, 52 degrees at kickoff, warming up to a balmy 55 by the end of the game. Clear skies, wind SSW 9 mph.

The Spread: Florida State is a 34.5 or 35 point favorite.

Florida State, should they win out, will be in the BCS National Title game. Quarterback Jameis Winston is now the odds on favorite to win the Heisman. What an impact a single upset on a Thursday night in November can have. Such is life in the BCS, even in its final year.

Next up for the 'Noles is the Demon Deacons. The 'Noles are an overwhelming favorite. The last time the 'Noles had a spread like this, they scored 35 unanswered points in the first quarter.

Will Wake Forest employ Miami's tactics? Will they drop 7-8 into coverage and try to make Winston throw underneath routes? Possible. The difference, if Wake drops that many into coverage, FSU's run game could deliver big plays and quickly. Wake doesn't have the same size up front to at least mitigate the damage.

Wake's offense struggled badly against Syracuse. The Deacon's best offensive player, WR Campanaro, was lost due to injury for the season in the first quarter. If Wake has not found any answers on offense, things could get out of control and quickly. The defense might be sound, but it will be difficult to maintain with a struggling offense. If the 'Noles are focused, this game should be in garbage time before the 4th quarter.

The best thing that can be said about the afternoon games is that they are football games. Michigan and Nebraska both have the name recognition and they play each other. Michigan lost to Penn State and Nebraska lost to Minnesota. But we'll watch because MICHIGAN, NEBRASKA. Duke vs NC State doesn't sound that great. But this isn't your grandfather's Duke. Or, like, your kid brother's Duke. The Blue Devils are 6-2 and favored by 9.5 over the Wolfpack. You read that right.

At 7:00 PM, things get a bit more interesting. Miami, after being crushed by the 'Noles, plays a struggling Virginia Tech team. If Miami loses, the ACC Coastal division becomes a complete mess. VT would have the tie breaker over Miami but still would not guarantee a championship trip. Yep, potential chaos. Oh, a bit later, LSU travels to Alabama. A lot of 'Nole fans are pretty sure that they, "WANT BAMA!" Well, for that to happen, Bama has to keep on winning.* LSU, The Hat, Saban, Bama undefeated, title on the line. Yeah, should probably watch this one.
