After dominating their competition in regional play, Florida State players dominated the All-Regional team ballots.
Finishing the Tallahassee Regionals 3-0 and by a combined score of 32-4, it is not a shocker that FSU had six players named to the All-Regional team. The Seminoles have now won 19 consecutive regional games and will host the Super Regionals for the sixth straight season.
Luke Weaver was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Tallahassee Regional after throwing eight shutout innings Saturday night against Troy. Weaver struck out a career high 14, which also ranks as the most for Florida State since Tyler Chambliss struck out 15 in 2006.
Also on the All-Regional team is Jose Brizuela, DJ Stewart, Seth Miller, Marcus Davis, and Scott Sitz. Through the three games, Stewart hit .636, which was the best batting average in the regional. McGee hit .500 and brought in five RBIs for the Seminoles. Brizuela went .400 during the three games. Davis finished .333 while bringing in six runs. Sitz opened regional play for FSU with seven scoreless innings on Friday night against Savannah State.
