The college basketball holiday tournaments are one of the highlights of the season. While football obsessed schools almost completely ignore them (ahem), college basketball fans are just giddy. You've got win-and-advance formats in November, intriguing matchups, and great locations.
FSU will be playing in the Puerto Rico Tip-off in a field which includes national runner up Michigan, as well as Georgetown and Virginia Commonwealth.
Today, the bracket was announced, and it turns out that the Noles will be facing Terrance Shannon and VCU. Of course, VCU led the nation in forcing turnovers last season, while FSU was 284th at avoiding them. This will be a great test for FSU's back court.
VCU lost two key players in point guard Darius Theus and shooting guard Troy Daniels. But still, they're loaded, and will certainly be a preseason top 25 team.
The games start on Thursday, November 21st, and FSU plays on ESPNU at 730 EST. Win or lose, all teams are guaranteed three games.
