Adam Torres, a 6'4, 265 pound defensive tackle prospect, committed to Florida State on Monday evening, per the Orlando Sentinel. The 2014 prospect from Lake Mary High School in the Orlando area announced his choice after two visits to Tallahassee in the last two weeks. Florida State beat Miami and South Carolina for his services.
Torres is a consensus 3 star defensive tackle recruit. He is a versatile prospect who will be able to play as both a 5 technique defensive end or a 3 technique defensive tackle. Torres fits a recent trend of commitments who are able to play multiple positions on the defensive line. The ability to play as a 5 tech defensive end and slide inside to a 3 technique position will help FSU play more multiple fronts. His versatility is similar to FSU's most recent defensive tackle commitment, Dexter Wideman.
Torres is the 23rd commitment and 4th defensive tackle commitment in the 2014 class, joining Demarcus Christmas, Frederick Jones, and Wideman. This is likely the final defensive tackle commitment for the 2014 class.
