Jimbo Fisher Update:
Jimbo said both Jameis Winston and Jacob Coker made some nice reads against the blitz today, and even mentioned Sean Maguire's play. Said they all looked pretty good, although somebody threw an interception.
Karlos Williams was wearing a no-contact due to his shoulder getting banged up earlier this week. Jimbo said Williams had a nice interception today, as well, hence the previous mentioned INT.
Jacob Fahrenkrug wasn't dressed because of a banged up shoulder, and Derrick Mitchell wasn't dressed due to a sore back. Jonathan Franklin had a soemthing "twisted up with his side and ribs." But according to Fisher, they should all be fine.
Fisher still not sure about his redshirt list.
Fisher also not sure what coaches will be up in the box at this point. Said they worked on that a little bit today until lightning forced them inside. They plan to have another trial run at that on Saturday.
__________________________
While questions still loom about the starting quarterback job, the Florida State Seminoles entered Doak Campbell Stadium Wednesday afternoon for what will be their last scrimmage of the fall. With what has seemed to be a domino effect in the receiving corps still fresh in his mind, head coach Jimbo Fisher decided to hand out his fair share of blue jersey's for Wednesday's scrimmage. But don't expect this scrimmage to be a walk-through. There are still questions to be answered and jobs to be won.
Derrick Mitchell and Jacob Fahrenkrug were not dressed out today.
Jonathan Franklin was not dressed out either. We'll have to find out from Jimbo if he's on that redshirt list because he didn't seem to be nursing any kind of injury.
Davarez Bryant was dressed out today for the first time in a week, but he was still not participating.
These were the players sporting blue jerseys today: James Wilder, Devonta Freeman, Mario Pender, Chad Abram, Jesus Wilson and Karlos Williams. As for the running backs, I expect this is more of a precautionary move by coach Fisher. When it comes to Karlos Williams, I'm not so sure. I remember seeing and writing that Hunter was working as the safety in the 4-3 set, but maybe there's more to it than meets the eye - Karlos may have gotten banged up a bit. We'll find out more once we talk to Jimbo after the scrimmage.
P.J. Williams looked to be back getting full reps again today.
Rashad Greene was hanging out for a little bit, as well as Daniel Glauser.
We didn't get to stay very long today, but we'll get JImbo after the scrimmage and bring you those updates.
