College Football Kickoff: Gameday Special

Our national off-season nightmare is over. Welcome back football. We missed you so, so much.

It's back, and it's better than ever.
It's back, and it's better than ever.
Streeter Lecka

It was, perhaps, the most ridiculous off-season ever. It was an off-season filled with football 'stories' that had absolutely nothing to do with football. The stupidity reached an apex of absurdity that played on a continuous loop. The situation was dire. Turn on the TV? Nope. Not if it meant being bombarded with the same brain shrinking minutia over and over and over...

Tonight, we get to flush all that white noise and get back to the important stuff. Hard hits, big plays, loud fans, physical freaks of nature doing amazing things that make us ooh and aah. It's all back. Football is back. As such, we will watch. We will watch the hard hits and big plays and provide said oohs and aahs. The TV is safe again because FOOTBALL IS BACK.

Throughout the year, we will provide a Gameday Central on Saturday. It's a place for our readers to gather and talk about football. Florida State games, of course, being the focus. But since it's opening night, we're starting early. Look for another page for this Saturday's slate of games. Monday we'll have yet another for the Florida State/Pitt game.

Tonight's games:

All eyes will be on UNC and South Carolina. The hype machine is firing on all cylinders for Jadeveon Clowney. Does he deserve it? We'll find out!*

Next up, Ol' Miss vs Vanderbilt. Should be a solid conference game. This ain't your daddy's Vandy.

Stay up late and watch USC vs Hawaii. Hopefully Lane Kiffin will just be himself and make the late night worth it.
