Gameday Central: College Football Saturday

First weekend of football is underway. Thursday and Friday offered plenty of excitement. But here comes Saturday. Oh boy, Saturday.

Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

Football isn't just on Saturdays anymore. There was fun for all to be had Thursday from 6:00 PM to 3:00 AM. On a THURSDAY. Friday, a night of ho-hum tune up games, featured K-State losing to FCS North Dakota State University. However, there's this: NDSU is 7-3 since 2006 against FBS teams. For the love of your fan base college teams, stop scheduling the mighty Bison.

Random game watching on weeknights is great. But here comes college football Saturday. While there's a lot of beat-down-poor-FCS-team-tune-up games, there's plenty to keep you glued to the TV . Be sure to check out your SB Nation viewing options here.

Games to watch:

Early Games:

Toledo vs 10 Florida - UF has suspended players, a couple of which are contributors, for this game. First chance to see if the Gator's offense and QB Driskel have improved.

Maryland, NC State, and Boston College all play games in which they SHOULD win. It'll be worth checking in on those to make sure they actually do (one of them has to lose right?).

Afternoon Games:

Miss State vs 13 Oklahoma State - Solid afternoon viewing. Miss State started 2012 7-0 and finished 8-5. For 2013, 0-1 is likely but the upset isn't impossible.

Penn State vs Syracuse - Only because FSU plays Cuse.

Evening Games:

1 Alabama vs VT - VT has had to deal with a lot of injuries. Bama is almost a 3 TD favorite. Hopefully the Hokies keep it close and no more injuries.

5 Georgia vs 8 Clemson - Top 10, game of the day, opponent scouting. Are the Tigers ready for the big stage? The Clemson defense will have their hands full with the Georgia offense. The over/under is 71. There will be points. Lots and lots of points.

12 LSU vs 20 TCU - The Hat in a ranked game on Saturday night? Yes please.*

*It's college football season. Take your TV out of the bedroom or steal your kids or whatever. Two minimum is a necessity.
