Friday Practice Report

'Noles nearing the end of their first week of fall camp.

Melina Vastola-USA TODAY Sports

7:30 UPDATE: Jimbo Post-practice

Jimbo said Austin Barron has a small break on the side of his foot.  Apparently Barron practiced all day yesterday but complained about a sore foot afterwards and found the small break.  He will likely miss 3-4 weeks.

Bryan Stork will occasionally sit out practices because of his former toe injury.  Jimbo said he wasn't worried about Stork getting daily reps because he knows what the starting center can do on the field.

Fisher continued to praise the young freshmen and their knowledge of the game.  Said they're one of the better groups he's ever had, mentally.

He also said that Ira Denson is still a little limited at practice, even though he was in shells today.  Should be back to 100% in a couple of days, according to Fisher.

The media will not be able to attend tomorrow's practice, but the team is expected to be in full pads.

Ira Denson was back in shells today and running offensive line drills. With it only being a shoulder sprain, Jimbo seemed extremely confident that Denson would be back this week and that's exactly what happened.

Center Bryan Stork was without shells and limited today during the first 20 minutes of practice, and backup center Austin Barron didn't practice at all. We'll get Jimbo today after practice and we'll know more about their conditions once we talk to him.

Mario Pender was still without shells today as he's still in his two-day grace period. I expect him in shells tomorrow.

DB Ronald Darby had a more extensive role in practice today as he's still easing back into the every day. Tyler Hunter also had a bigger role today. Ronald Darby, Nick Waisome and Tyler Hunter were steady with the 2s today, while Hunter was in with the 1s on nickel and dime packages.

Christian Jones found his hand in the dirt a few times during the dime package creating the four-man front. This is something we expect to happen from time to time.

Jesus Wilson and Kermit Whitfield were also working into some of the sets on the first team offense.

Christian Green also had a role in the first team offense, as expected, with Willie Haulstead no longer on the team. A lot of people have been waiting a long time to see Green break out - quite the athlete.

Once again, our new interns, Stephen Fenech and Spencer Wills, kept an eye out and saw some good things.

Karlos Williams was involved in a number of blitz packages.

Jameis Winston and Jacob Coker were working on their pre-snap reads. This will be a constant as Jimbo Fisher tries to find his starter.

There were scouts from the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Washington Redskins at practice today.

Lovelady was working as the first team center with Stork and Barron limited.

Wilson Bell is still making strides and seemed to be moving well  and getting compliments from coaches.

We'll get Jimbo after practice and we'lll find out a little more once we talk to him.
