Timmy Jernigan dominates despite battling flu, feels Florida State is still disrespected

Florida State defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan battled the flu and side effects of the medicine he was given for the affliction, but turned in a monster game for his defense, as Florida State held Auburn to its lowest points and yards/play totals since it installed the zone read game after losing to LSU in Week 4.

After, Jernigan conducted the Marching Chiefs with the fight song and Queen's "We are the Champions."

"Nobody works harder than us, nobody fights harder than us, nobody has more love for one another," Jernigan said.

"Just don't flinch. Don't flinch. Get ready for a dog fight, we're right where we want to be. We're gonna get the ball back and come out swinging," Jernigan said the coaches told him at halftime.

"It's politics, man, that's something coach Fisher calls clutter, you can't get caught up in it," Jernigan said of the talk about not having played in close games.

"Of course, we've played in some tough games, man. I don't understand why people sit up there and they say that," Jernigan said when asked if he had ever been as tired after a game. "But we're fighters, man, we're Seminoles, and at the end of the day, we're going to fight to the end. If you're going to beat us, you're going to have to hit us every second of the game."

"We were down 17-0 against Boston College, I guess everyone forgot about that," Jernigan said angrily. "It doesn't matter, they play football the same way we do, they put their pants on the same way we do. They had a Heisman finalist, but Boston College had a Heisman finalist, too, so what's the difference? Nothing. Boston College's offensive line is just as good as theirs, maybe even better. (Staring into camera) Nobody want to talk about that," he said when a reported tried to differentiate the two games.

"Tired of hearing it. I'm tired of hearing it, man," Jernigan said about the SEC talk. "We came to prove that those guys aren't gods, they're human."

"All of them," Jernigan said when asked about which SEC teams offered him as a recruit. "Every SEC team offered me."
