-Dustin Tackett writes that newly reinstated LB Matthew Thomas is ready to play this weekend against Notre Dame. His teammates are just as excited to have him back. Good read.
-Brendan Sonnone of the Orlando Sentinel talks with the Seminole offensive lineman as they recall the last time these two teams met in 2011. That game helped sparked the careers of many of FSU's stud o-linemen.
-Jared Shanker of ESPN sat down with a few former players of the Noles and Irish to discuss the 1993 season in which FSU played for and won a national title, despite losing to Notre Dame earlier that season in the "Game of the Century". I wasn't yet born in 1993...who feels old?
-Andy Staples of Sports Illustrated writes that Everett Golson will be key, if the Irish have any chance of beating the Seminoles in Doak Campbell Stadium. Golson has been extremely turnover prone with NINE alone in his last three games. Big key for that FSU defense on Saturday to get those turnovers.
-Bill Connelly gives his four keys to the game for FSU and Notre Dame. Lots of really great numbers and analysis from Bill here, as always.
-As for my prediction for this weekend's game, I think it's a great match-up between two great football teams with a ton of talent. Notre Dame's front seven is as good as FSU has seen and will challenge the Seminole to air it out. I think that's where Winston can do his damage as the Noles hold a huge advantage passing on the Notre Dame secondary, While I do think Everett Golson is a great quarterback and the Irish will move the ball, I have a feeling the Seminole defense will be dialed-in all game to play well enough to give the offense a chance of putting the game away. With it also being Notre Dame's first true road game of the season I think the Noles pull away late. Give me Florida State in a 37-24 victory.
