Gameday Central: FSU ALREADY WON Edition

Another game, another nail biter for the 'Noles. A Thursday night road victory means no FSU game for the second Saturday in a row. But, we'll still be talkin ball all day.

Gameday Central

Thursday games are weird. You sit around, likely at work or at school, no football on to distract you. Nope, just mundane midweek blah, waiting ALL DAY for the game. Then, win or lose, hurrah - IT STILL ISN'T THE WEEKEND. But, there's an upside. The come-from-behind-spot-everyone-points-then-annihilate-all-their-hopes-and-dreams 'Nole team of 2014, won. So sit back and enjoy another football Saturday without any worry of hyperventilating through 3.9 quarters of Florida State insanity.

Not exactly a slate of playoff impact games in the early slot. However, we do get some solid ACC scouting. Florida State only has 3 ACC games left and 2 of those teams are playing at noon.

UNC and QB Marquise Williams travel to Miami. If you haven't had a chance to check out the Tar Heel signal caller, do so today. UNC can score points. Unfortunately, their defense is 123rd in yards allowed per game and 108 in yards per play. True freshman Brad Kaaya is playing well for the 'Canes. Miami is favored by 15 points, which sounds about 7 points too high (Note, I'M NOT AN EXPERT).

Boston College heads to Virginia Tech. This game might not be all the interesting, to put it nicely. VT got beat down by Miami in their last game on a Thursday night. While Miami played well, the VT offense was completely inept. Boston College had to hold off a late rally by Wake Forest to win by 6. VT is a 3 point favorite. No lifeguard on duty, watch at own risk.

Don't forget, Penn State at Maryland. Should be a competitive game. Penn State is favored by 3.5 with an O/U of 47.5. Also, Duke leads the Coastal but they are a 3 point dog on the road to Pitt. Presented as the definition of ACC COASTAL DIVISION: The 6-1 Blue Devils will have to beat 4-4 Pitt Panthers, in an upset, to hold onto the division lead.

FSU transfer Clint Trickett and West Virginia host the offense heavy, seriously, TCU Horned Frogs. This is your afternoon ranked vs ranked game. The O/U is around 72 and TCU is favored by a field goal. After WVU upset Baylor, there may not be enough furniture left in Morgantown to burn if the Mountaineers pull off the upset again.

Florida and Georgia meet up in Jacksonville. And Georgia should DESTORY UF but no, the Dawgs are only a 10.5 point favorite. Georgia has played as the better team in this game and lost before. A lot. UGA doesn't get Todd Gurley back because some scummy autograph dealer had his feelings hurt. Then the NCAA said a 4 game suspension and community service makes it all better because the NCAA is just the worst. Treon Harris was named the starting quarterback for UF. That's right, the Gators are turning to a true freshman to make anything, seriously anything, happen on offense.

Don't forget, FSU's opponent next weekend, Virginia, travels to Georgia Tech. Virginia lost a tough game to UNC last week for their second loss in a row. Georgia Tech just beat up mistake prone (all the fumbles, ever) Pitt. Tech is a 4 point favorite.

Finally, 7:00 PM, a team is getting removed from the top 5. Either Ole Miss or Auburn will suffer their 2nd loss of the season. Ole Miss lost to LSU last week as the rowdy Tiger fans got into Bo Wallace's head. He was not sharp, at all. LSU shoved Ole Miss around but had trouble capitalizing on scoring chances. Auburn found themselves in a shootout with South Carolina. Wallace will be at home, so crazy drunk LSU fans shouldn't be a distraction. Ole Miss is a 3 point favorite. Yeah, gonna watch this one.

Mississippi State has played great, for the most part,  this year. They host scrappy Arkansas. Scrappy in this instance means finding painful ways to lose close game against good teams. Arky might make this game interesting for a half. However, Arkansas hasn't beat an SEC team in a season and a half. Doubtful that changes against this Mississippi State team.

Stanford/Oregon doesn't have the same feel as usual. That's because Stanford can't score points. They are 91st in total points scored. However, this will certainly be the best defense Oregon has seen (2nd in scoring defense). Upset? Unlikely, but has some potential.

If you are still awake, there's still two ranked vs ranked games on. Thanks for existing west coast football. Arizona travels to UCLA. The Bruins haven't lived up to expectations. Another loss will likely bump them from the rankings.

Last but not least, if you haven't completely passed out, we get an 11 PM kick for Utah at Arizona State. Both are one loss teams trying to work their way to tops in the Pac-12 South. Might be a stretch for either of these teams to make it to the playoffs. But, with an added loss, one of these teams will certainly be eliminated.

If you see cool things, mention them in the comments. For non FSU game threads, feel free to share pics, gifs, screen grabs, etc. Have a great FSU ALREADY WON Saturday.
