The 2014 ACC Championship game has finally been set, with Florida State squaring off against Georgia Tech on December 6th, as the Yellow Jackets clinched the bid with Duke's loss Thursday night. This is Florida State's fourth appearance in the last five years with Georgia Tech returning for the first time since losing to the Seminoles 15-21 in the 2012 ACC Championship game.
Georgia Tech will test the Seminoles run defense, as the Yellow Jackets are fourth in the nation on the ground, averaging 327.9 rushing yards per game. The Seminoles offense, lead by Jameis Winston, are 11th in the nation in passing yards, averaging 318.3 yards per game. This game will come down to whether Jalen Ramsey and the Seminoles defense can stop the rushing attack of Justin Thomas, Zach Laskley, and company.
If still undefeated, this will be the last chance to jockey for playoff seeding. Georgia Tech, currently ranked #18, would be the fifth team this season that the Seminoles have played this season that has been ranked at one point this season. Florida State all time is 3-1 in ACC Championship games, and 2-1 under coach Jimbo Fisher. Georgia Tech all time is 1-2, with that one win being vacated due to impermissible benefits given to student-athletes.
You can watch the game on Saturday, December 6 from Charlotte, North Carolina at either 7:45 PM EST (ESPN) or 8:00 PM EST (ABC)
