Florida State football, recruiting news 11/21

Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

-Brendan Sonnone of the Orlando Sentinel writes that Florida State was thrown off by Boston College's misdirection offense a season ago and aim not to be this time around.

-Dustin Tackett of the Orlando Sentinel talks about Kermit Whitfield's struggles with playing time and lack there of, and how some of the older players helped him through it.

-David Hale of ESPN looks at stats and numbers for FSU's case at being number one in the college football playoff rankings. Always good stuff from Hale.

-Tim Linafelt of Seminoles.com writes that Cason Beatty has been a huge lift for the Seminole team.

-The USA Today makes their picks for this weekend's match-ups Pretty boring slate of games but who do you all think will win?

-That brings me to my prediction for Saturday's game. Boston College is well coached and has a gritty team under Steve Addazio. They had a bye week to prepare for the Noles and will be ready with some tricks up their sleeves. Honestly, before the shootings of Thursday night I would have said the Eagles will hang tough until the very end against FSU. However, tragedy has a way of bringing people closer together and I really think this team will rally with the fans to get the job done in a convincing fashion, maybe it's a stretch but it's how I truly feel. FSU is capable of having a complete game every week and I think Saturday could be it with a greater goal than just winning at stake. Doak Campbell will be a special atmosphere tomorrow afternoon and I think Jameis Winston and the offense will put points up on an average BC defense, while the Seminole defense comes up huge with a few turnovers. Florida State wins 44-17.
